Striking Scandinavian Kitchen Renovation
We recently completed this beautiful Brookhaven kitchen renovation with modern Scandinavian style. A mix of warm white, white oak wood, zellige tile and marble countertops gave our clients the soothing, minimalist and clean style they were craving. Take a look at this striking Scandinavian kitchen renovation and see if it suits your style.
Layout and Materials
The kitchen has an easy work triangle layout with an island that houses the sink and the dishwasher. And the island serves as a family hub in the center.
The color palette is neutral, and the material palette adds warm natural textures. The floors are white oak and so is the custom ribbed vent hood. Using materials like oak, leather and marble add a pleasing organic feel to the space.
This is the view from the eat-in dining area. A range wall with the custom vent hood in the center provides a nice focal point along the wall. The lights over the island are iconic Bell Lamp Pendants by Lund Rudbeck for Normann Copenhagen.
Another Scandinavian touch was using a grid of square tiles on the backsplash. Their subtle mix of white and light gray tones adds some rhythm to the space, making it sing! The gridded layout also shows of the color variation in the zellige tiles.
Hidden Walk-In Pantry
One of our favorite features in this kitchen is a hidden walk-in pantry. When closed, the secret entrance to the pantry looks like a tall pantry cabinet. No one is the wiser!
The doors swing open to reveal a beautiful walk-in pantry. In spite of the fact that it’s completely hidden from view, our clients keep this space immaculately organized. Our in-house interior design team can help you organize your pantry and cabinets, tailored to the way you like to function in the kitchen.
Appliance Garage
Another hidden element are the countertop appliances. Keeping these items tucked away provides a clutter-free Scandinavian look.
The countertop cabinet doors open to reveal the standing mixer, French press and coffee grinder. Also, note that there are handy outlets installed within the appliance garages.
Smart Storage
In addition to the pantry and appliance garage, we installed lots of smart storage throughout the space, including these slats for baking sheets, roasting pans and cutting boards.
A Hardworking Kitchen Island
The island contains the sink and the dishwasher, as well as additional storage. The layout allows whomever is washing the dishes to enjoy the view out the large expanse of glass doors toward the backyard.
The faucet has as minimalist profile with lovely knurled details. It is the Litze Pull-Down Faucet from Brizo. The countertops are Calacatta Gold marble.
The island also provides additional storage for overflow items. This shot also gives us a look at the beautiful counter stools with woven leather seats. These add more warm wood and organic materials to the room. These were the kind of elements that put the “Striking” in Striking Scandinavian Kitchen Renovation!
Eat-In Coziness
In addition to the island, there’s also a kitchen table off to the side where the family can gather. This dining area is also a beautiful combination of white and wood, and includes modern shell chairs. It’s giving off cozy hygge vibes that invite everyone to turn off their phones and enjoy a meal and conversation.
Another important element was the built-in bookshelves. These offer an easy spot to display cookbooks, artwork and other favorite items.
