Craftsman-style kitchens are defined by highly customized touches and beautiful materials. The Arts and Crafts movement began at the end of the 19th century in England. Due to the popularity of this style over the years, it has made it possible for homeowners to attain a Craftsman kitchen with many variations. The traditional Craftsman elements of low ceilings, dark wood have gravitated to brighter color schemes and open living spaces and a more contemporary style. Natural light, shaker cabinets and subway backsplash tile are still main style elements. A comfortable floor plan is always appealing for a growing, busy family.

Our clients had outgrown their kitchen/laundry space and had a rough idea of how to expand their home. Our team worked closely with them to design a new layout that would convert a covered carport area into their new kitchen, mudroom and powder room. The addition of these bright open spaces has already changed how this wonderful family functions on a daily basis, especially with the addition of a mudroom and storage cubbies for all the kids. A fantastic Craftsman transformation!
This busy family needed a kitchen that was functional for the whole family. The large island allows for plenty of seating! From what was once two separate rooms turned into a custom dream with a butler’s pantry/buffet, glass cabinets, and open concept, Craftsman design for living and dining. The dark granite, natural stone island, white cabinetry, and heavily trimmed column support give balance to the room. We were able to match the old and new hardwood floors for a seamless look.
