Now Hiring a Designer!

Do you LOVE interior design? Do you LOVE designing residential kitchens and baths?

Are you a MASTER at re-configuring interior spaces and putting all of the details together? Do you LOVE making clients feel cared for? If your answer to these questions is YES , then we have a fantastic full-time position for the person who loves designing residential kitchen / bath remodeling projects, loves residential construction, and loves working with and contributing to a dedicated team of talented and driven people.

Interested? How about we cut to the chase? We are a small business located in Atlanta. There are about 15 of us working at Innovative Construction in various roles and we are looking for an Experienced Kitchen and Bath Designer to work with our clients and our team to build their project.

We are a great group of people who enjoy working together. We are an innovative bunch who are constantly striving to improve our process to make our workload easier and our client’s experience better. We like to have fun and frequently eat lunch together and with our favorite clients. Speaking of favorite clients, we have a lot of them and they make our world go round!

We work with clients who want to remodel their homes and in turn we are able to help improve their lives. What better cause could we have to build beautiful and functional new spaces for others? Our clients tend to be professionals or retirees who want service and expect a quality built product in the end. They need excellent communication and honesty at all times.

Often times, our client’s have had a bad experience remodeling in the past. Our company shows them that we are not like other ‘typical remodeling companies’ who promise a smooth renovation, but end up leaving them feeling disappointed. We have a reputation of doing what we say we are going to do, when we say we are going to do it, and for what we say we will do it for. That’s where you will come in.

On a daily basis, you will be working and communicating with our beloved clients, our vendors, and our team to design our remodeling projects as a Project Designer. Our clients are everything to us and we are focused on providing them with excellent service, incredible design ideas, and the highest quality projects – that is why our client’s hire us. The details are always important. You will be responsible for listening to our clients (and taking notes!), and getting to the bottom of what is working and what is not working for them. Then, you will provide them with great ideas and integrate solutions for what the clients feel they need. Our designers work in a collaborative process with our clients that takes them through the space planning stages (floor plans) and onto the finishes (hard finishes for those who are experienced). As you design the project, you will be creating the floor plans and finish schedules. You will continue to be involved in the project all of the way through construction to ensure that the design is being carried out into real life. We have an exciting and fun process geared at achieving the best outcome for our client, while being very considerate of their budget. You will be the main point of contact between our company and the client during the design phase of a project and you will work with our construction team to ensure smooth execution of the design. You should have space planning experience as well as experience with finish selections. In short, your job is make sure our clients feel listened to and that provided them with the best ideas possible after listening to their wants and needs.

If this is something you know you can be great at, here are the details of the compensation. This a a salary position, paying in the range of $45 to $65k to start out. We offer a company sponsored health, paid vacation, paid holidays, and a Simple IRA Plan. Our typical operating hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, There will be occasions where you will need to communicate with our clients or trade partners in the early evening to meet deadlines. There will also be occasions where you will need to make the choice to come in early or stay a few minutes after to have things ready on time. So, if you are the type that comes in late and needs to cut out right at 4:59pm everyday, this won’t be the job for you. All of this is not to say that this is a 60-70 hour per week job every week, it’s not. We are a company that is respectful of your personal time and are flexible when you are contributing to the team and your work is consistent, timely and accurate. We just believe in being upfront and honest with the work expectations.

Now, here is what we need from you:

If you are the type of person that needs a list given to them everyday and you will only work off that list, this is not a place you will be happy.
  • You have to be detailed oriented and a person that follows systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that you are detailed oriented and can follow procedures, when you apply for this position, please email your resume to Info@InnovateAtlanta, in the email subject title you must include the words “ I want to join Team Innovative ”.  Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone, from the folks (that’s you) who is truly interested in this position.
  • You have to be thirsty to continue to learn . In fact, our owner will often suggest and give out books to read on various subjects. So if you don’t like learning or reading about small business, or improving yourself, this will be a headache for both of us
  • Our team deserves to have all members contributing their best therefore we use metrics to rate and judge performance. Lovable slackers need not apply .
  • Successful candidates will be people that understand that we succeed or fail as a team . Self centered people should find other places to work.
