We want happy clients. Happy clients are fun to work with, make us feel good about ourselves, refer us, and use us for future remodels. Happy clients refer us to other great people we love to work for and the whole process repeats itself.

How long have you been doing this?2019-04-21T21:19:49+00:00

Innovative Construction was founded in 2000 by Clark Harris. Clark has been in Construction full time since moving to Atlanta in 1996. Eric Bain joined the company in 2004. We have a very high retention rate for team members and trade partners. We leverage our experience by learning from our mistakes and creating new processes to avoid them.

Do you take care of the loose ends at the end of the job?2019-04-21T21:21:35+00:00

We specialize in completing your job 100%. We have numerous checklists for each phase of your project, eliminating a lengthy punch list. We do multiple walkthroughs of our work at the end of the job and take care of all the little items. We then do a walkthrough with you and make a list of items to complete and correct. You do not make your final payment until you are satisfied.

A majority of our business comes from Referrals and Repeat clients. We spend our marketing budget on customer warranties and team member training.

Will my house get dirty?2019-04-21T21:25:48+00:00

Yes, but we do everything we can to mitigate dust. We treat every job like it is a lead paint remediation job. We spend the first day on the jobsite just setting up dust protection. We put protective ram board on your floor, specialized non slip stair protection, carpet protection, plastic walls with zip poles, and zippers. We also contain dust by using Air Scrubbers with Hepa Filters during certain stages of the job.

Can I live in my house during the remodel?2019-04-21T21:26:35+00:00

Homeowners live in their homes during about 90% of our projects. We only do remodeling so everything we do is geared towards keeping your home safe, clean, and comfortable.

How will we communicate during the Project?2019-04-21T21:27:23+00:00

We use an online Project Management site. There are three main parts. Messaging—Each item has its own thread and everyone involved can comment on it. It goes to your email or if you are busy during the day you can go on the Mobile App and see every conversation that occured. File sharing—To document all product documentation and billing. “To-Do” lists—will show you everything you need and when you need it. Best of all it will be archived for access after your job is completed.

What is the benefit of Design Build?2019-05-18T21:17:40+00:00

There are many benefits to keeping the Design and Build under one roof. We design the project around your budget. You will work with our selection coordinator from the first meeting until the completion of the project. They will ensure your selections work together to make your vision a reality. By knowing your design and material selections we can create an extremely accurate Construction Agreement that will Avoid surprises. When we start the construction phase of the job we have everything ordered and your job is scheduled to completion.

What is a Design Agreement?2019-05-18T22:11:37+00:00

We use and implement a two step process. The first phase is Design and the second is the Construction. The Design Agreement will show you:

  • A basic scope of work for your project

  • A ballpark cost

  • How long the project will take

  • A Proposal to Design your project including:

    • Schematic Drawings and Revisions

    • Working with one of our Selection coordinators to choose your finishes

  • A “Trade meeting” at your home to avoid any pricing surprises

  • A Detailed Scope of Work and a fixed price

  • A Final Meeting to review the Scope of Work line by line with you

How long does the Design Process Take?2019-05-18T21:06:11+00:00

Designing your project and choosing all of your selections can take 2 to 3 months. We get the details right before we start so we can complete your renovation as efficiently as possible.

How are you different from the others?2019-05-18T21:07:37+00:00

We are constantly improving and educating ourselves how we can better serve you. We create a system or a process for everything we do. We receive training from local and national organizations. We are a customer driven company that focuses on Communication, Consideration, Organization, and Quality. We love being a team and striving to impress our clients with our Customer Service and delivering a final product we can all be proud of. We strive to not just be the best remodeling experience you have had but to deliver the the best customer service you have ever experienced.

What is a Selection Coordinator?2019-05-18T21:09:05+00:00

The Selection Coordinator goal is to identify your style, bring it to reality, and to remove the stress from the process. They will ensure that different selections all coordinate to bring your vision to reality. The Selection Coordinator will not push their design ideas on you, they will make sure your design ideas all work together.

Are you insured and licensed?2019-05-18T21:10:35+00:00

What is a Pre-Construction Meeting?2019-04-21T21:32:48+00:00

Approximately three weeks before a project begins our team meets with our clients. We bring your job notebook and go through four pages of Questions and Suggestions. We go over any concerns you may have. We discuss basic logistical issues like where to store supplies, where the dumpster goes, neighbor relations, etc.

How do we know if we are the right client for you?2019-05-18T21:12:42+00:00

The easiest way would be to give us a call at 404.400.2406 and speak to us directly.

Do you use subcontractors?2019-04-21T21:35:12+00:00

Yes, we have very strong relationships with our Trade Partners. We have used some of them since 2000. Most of our subcontractors are small companies. Often time the owner is the one doing the work. Our Trade Partners go through the same training as our employees and are held to the same rigorous standards. We will not put anyone in your home that we would not put in our own Mother’s.

How long will it take?2019-04-21T21:35:55+00:00

Our jobs typically take between 8 and 12 weeks. We maintain a steady pace and keep a healthy balance between quality and speed. Work will take place almost every day. A few exceptions are waiting for inspectors or sheetrock mud drying days. We typically work from 8am sharp to 5pm Monday through Friday.

How much will it cost?2019-04-21T21:36:40+00:00

It is hard to set a standard price since every job is different. Please give us a call and we will get back to you within 24 hours. We can share prices of similar jobs we have completed. We will need to set up an Initial meeting to look at your project to give you an accurate ballpark estimate. Please give us a call to get started 404.400.2406

Why does is it cost so much!?2019-04-21T21:38:00+00:00

Remodeling is an inefficient process. New homebuilding is a commodity while remodeling, when done properly, is a customer service business. When we renovate a bathroom we are bringing in many of the same Trades that are used to build a new home. Despite being a smaller amount of work it often takes a similar amount of time. The cost of labor does not scale the same way it will on a new home. In remodeling each person must be suited to work around your family in your home. This includes being courteous, being careful not to damage the other areas of your home, and taking the time to clean up each day.

Do you have a minimum job size?2019-04-21T21:38:48+00:00

We have made a commitment to apply our Process to every Project. We do the same preproduction planning, supervision, site preparations, cleaning, and us the same Trade Partners (We don’t have a B Team). We find that our Process may not scale well for jobs less than $20,000. We are grateful for any work we are offered and are happy to see if we are a good fit for any project. We offer a hourly Handyman service for certain items.

What are the Three C’s Of Innovative?2019-04-21T21:40:04+00:00

Communication—We are constantly updating you on your Project

Cleanliness—We strive to keep your house as clean as possible during your remodel

Consideration—We know your house is your home and we treat it that way

Why do you take photos of a project?2019-04-21T21:46:05+00:00

Photos are extremely important in our design phase. Taking photos throughout the project helps us track daily progress, and allows the team to review and track the transformation of work being done. Photos also help us enter your project into Award Competitions. We are proud of our work and we like to show it off.
