Craftsman-style kitchens are defined by highly customized touches and beautiful materials. The Arts and Crafts movement began at the end of the 19th century in England. Due to the popularity of this style over the years, it has made it possible for homeowners to attain a Craftsman kitchen with many variations. The traditional Craftsman elements of low ceilings, dark wood have gravitated to brighter color schemes and open living spaces and a more contemporary style. Natural light, shaker cabinets and subway backsplash tile are still main style elements.  A comfortable floor plan is always appealing for a growing, busy family.
